The Ace of Cups formed in San Francisco in 1967 and have been described as one of the first all-female rock bands. Mary Gannon, Marla Hunt, Denise Kaufman, Mary Ellen Simpson, and Diane Vitalich found each other during the height of the Haight-Ashbury scene, making their mark in the burgeoning counterculture of the 1960s, with a psychedelic soul sound and soaring harmonies, sharing stages with Jimi Hendrix, Jefferson Airplane, and The Grateful Dead. They broke up four years later and never released an album…until now. Catch the original line-up on tour with their first album—ever!
